Folk Punk is happy, high energy songs about miserable, angry people. Usually kinda funny. I personally think it sounds like the singer of a band at a coffee shop getting fucking wasted before going on stage and the rest of the band just running with it.

honestly this has to be one of the worst byproducts of punk music ever. there's nothing original or thought-provoking about it, it literally doesn't go any deeper than 'i'm too lazy and "cool" to put forth any energy towards creating challenging music, nor do i want to spend time to learn an instrument well, so i'll just blend two simple genres together to make an even duller version of an already bastardized idea.'

I find it entertaining.

Maybe it's BECAUSE it's so fucking simple. I've memorized pretty much the entirety of People Who Can Eat People and could sing it from memory (apart from maybe the last song).

It's fun enough to listen to, underground enough that I can pretend I have taste, and I can sing it like a motherfucker.
