It doesn't get better for us. You can definitely try, but you will eventually realize that your efforts are all naught. You will fall back into depression and dispair; at this point you will either give up completely or start the vicious cycle of attempting to approve/failing and falling back into your old ways

I think a big part of it is once you get some experience with girls you're more confident, less desperate (I swear women can sniff out desperation) and less prone to spill spaghetti. You learn what to say or not say to get the desired outcome. It also helps my confidence to not feel like a useless piece of shit anymore.
