Why are you afraid to look at people in their eyes?

when i do, people look away immediately
this has conditioned me to never look

I'm not. I'm actually more comfortable that way.
It only becomes an issue when I start overthinking about it.
Like at what point does looking at someone in a conversation become starring. Once I reach that thought I autistically switch eye position like in a tennis match

when people look at me in the eyes i look away. i find it really uncomfortable. so i don't look people in the eyes either. i actually try to avoid looking at their face altogether.

should i check curious about eye contact restrictions?

I'm not, I have the opposite problem. If someone makes eye contact with me I consider it a challenge and won't break the contact until they do first. It's fucking autistic to stare down strangers but it is what it is.
