To be honest, I found it on the "Writing/Ed" section of CraigsList.

However, I had a good amount of writing experience prior to submitting my application. I lived in India for a while and regularly contributed reviews to a men's interest magazine. In the fall, I collaborated with a Russian-owned company to create soft advertisements for print publication.

If I average what I've earned for the past four or five years from writing, it usually comes out to be between $25 and $45 per hour. Most of my projects have been inconsistent and unpredictable, though, which is why I'm trying to find more contracts.

Hey, ENTPs kill it socially, though. You should just pair up with an ENTJ. You can ride his coattails professionally and then help him level up socially.

I've heard that's a common problem with freelance work, but I guess with a couple of regular customers you could overcome it

I'm going to be spending most of the summer and fall split between Tanzania and India, so I should be fine with just $600 per month after paying my bills. My friend who lives on Zanzibar island as a Peace Corps volunteer is letting me with stay him for free, too.

Don't need too much money, but it'd be nice to come back and still have a healthy bank account.

I'll be happy when I have my degree in-hand, at any rate.

ENTJ
I give myself like 8/10 for professional social skills and 6.5/10 on personal socializing. But the personal side is highly variable. I range between low grade autism to social mastery. My ENTP friends are all like consistent 8+/10 socially.
>>
>>35996422
I ask because online tests mark me as ENTJ and I consistently get told I'm amazing at being a public figure and speaking but during personal socialising, it's only a matter of time before I drive people away because I'm too much for them to handle. I even recently got the ultimatum that unless I get my shit together and stop living in my own head, I should just stay the fuck away.

Terrible if you're stuck there and can't get a visa to leave, I suppose.

I have a first-world salary, a first-world passport, and most of a first-world education complete. Going to places like India is an escape from my everyday life. Even if I don't always live particularly well in Delhi, it's a major change of scenery as well as an opportunity to explore another culture.

Ultimately, being an American citizen means that I'm not stuck in India. Whenever I'd like, I can go home, get a good-paying job, and forget all about South Asia.

It's terrible for you because you're stuck with sub-par wages for the rest of your life.

So I happen to have on my laptop computer right now a single photo from 2008, when I was 12, a bunch from 2011, when I was 15, photos from 2014, and I am looking at my face right now in the mirror in 2017, at 21.

I look profoundly unhappy these days. I can see the sadness written on my face. I've made vast improvements in my wisdom and understanding of the world and other things (I don't dress as badly anymore or do any cringy stuff), but there seems to have been an innocence and naivete and hope that I've lost that I didn't even know I had back then.

I look at myself now and I'm kind of a mess. I see myself then and I look clean. We all often wonder how it is that everything went so wrong. I don't really have an answer. I think for me it's just been coming to realize how much crueler reality is than I imagined it to be; that and a steady decline and fading of things I once loved but wasn't yet ready to give up.

I look at myself and I know that things have turned out badly. I've been neglecting myself too much, so I'm borderline underweight; I'm a manlet; I'm poor; I have basically no friends; I have no romantic life; I was born asthmatic and immediately put on life support, without which I'd have been dead. Yet I can't help but think there's a reason I'm so far from perfect and fine, that there's a reason why I have ended up here and that one day my purpose in life will become clear.

That's what I hold on to now. The promise of a meaning to be gifted and fulfilled one day. Today, though, I think I'll start making changes for the better.

I don't have enough info here to know what your problem is.

In my experience, ENTJs don't have typical cringey autist social issues, they have ENTJ specific issues. For instance, we approach everything hyper rationally/pragmatically so can seem cold to other people, especially Fe users. Or we get too focused on winning the conversation and put people off that way.

The key is to learn to back off and cause good feelings in other people, instead of trying to utterly destroy the competition. Or think of the competition as everyone else, but you're being ranked by how much everyone likes you.

For more info: I tried to open up more to not come off as a cold autist but I went completely off into the other deep end by being too focused on not hiding any part of myself. As a side dish, add discussions turning into me going for persuasion and if my "target" doesn't cooperate after the process, then the destruction process will soon follow and end with me burning a bridge eventually.
Funnily enough, when I set my goal as "win over this person", then laughs and good times will be shared. I just end up seeing them as someone I can trust and then I open the floodgates mentioned in the for more info paragraph.

Okay, so the second part where you talk about winning over people tells me you have solid social skills. Your problem is revealing your power level.

This is how I fixed that: Revealed my power level over and over with different people who were mostly put off by it. There's a small fraction of the population compatible with your inner thoughts (mostly NTs, some NFs, some STJs) who will stick around. Keep those people as a base and keep things shallow with everyone else. If I want to expand the inner circle I'll gradually drop red pills and gauge how people react.

You could do this without the trial and error by specifically targeting more compatible types. For instance, I know not to be honest to SFs, because they'll always misinterpret what I'm saying in the worst way.

I've seen statistics that show that ENTPs and INTPs have higher IQs you dummy nigger, however all of the studies are shit anyway.

on top of that, you act as if intelligence (not even intelligence actually, but just IQ) somehow deserves to be given special preference over other traits. It's clearly not the be all and end all because ENTJs and even ESFJs earn more than INTJs, and according to other studies lead to more content lives overall.

Thanks it's appreciated but whatever I change and whatever I pursue, life increasingly feels like a repetition of past days.

I'll live life to th end probably as I'm aware that life is unfortunately only finite but continuing increasingly feels like an obligation. I didn't always feel this way and that's the bad part.

Already accomplished. Now I simply see no purpose in continuing. I suppose I'm not intelligent enough to be motivated by simple pleasures.

It's either basically a bug with most personality tests, or just an INTP is what happens when you give an INFP a mild case of ASPD.

The personality test asks many questions about if the feelings of others matter to you. Obviously, if they don't matter at all, you end up categorized into T rather than F. If the feelings of others don't matter to you, it's much easier to enjoy violence.

When you aren't disgusted or empathetic with someone in torment, you just get... a buzz. The buzz of seeing someone else wounded. A bit of an adrenaline high, that can quickly become a fetish, I guess.

>or just an INTP is what happens when you give an INFP a mild case of ASPD.
Most INTP think far too much to be INFP though. You'd just be left with a dumb non-feeling feeler, with ASPD INFP.
>When you aren't disgusted or empathetic with someone in torment, you just get... a buzz. The buzz of seeing someone else wounded. A bit of an adrenaline high, that can quickly become a fetish, I guess.
That's true. Wonder if it's universal across less empathetic individuals in general. So far all I've seen here have been INTP though.
>>
>>35999677
You're still being motivated by feelings, they're simply sadistic rather than empathetic. If the feelings of others didn't matter to you, why would you enjoy seeing them wounded? Would you not instead be indifferent?
>>
>>35999831
Different anon, but you're right. I would wager it's that Fe at work.
>>
>>35999175
Plus we are lazy. And when we are motivated, it is only in spurts which is not very helpful in the long run.

People with ASPD do have feelings, but I guess you are right there. It doesn't just take an abandoning of hope and empathy, you have to consciously take up thought and facts in turn.

It's not universal. Some people are completely indifferent or desensitized to the suffering of others. But it's more likely for an individual with weaker empathy to develop sadistic interests.

>>35999831
There is a natural instinctive response when seeing a wounded or dying human being. A fast-onset adrenaline rush.

The feelings of other people don't emotionally matter to me outside of pain and wounds. I can understand that they should be respected if I want the person to cooperate, but that's about the extent of it. Sadism is something different, a natural impulse turned to sexuality.

ISTP bros show yourselves. What are you guys like and what do you want in life? I'm unable to keep any type of relationship because I end up pushing people away. I have no social skills and small talk pisses me off. Sometimes I just want to go to a desert and live the rest of my life cut off from everyone. I'm just terrible at expressing emotions.

Hmm, usually these images piss of my badly but I really like this one

that being said, I don't like how it implies the 3rd function is basically another weak one, ENTPs use Fe to be charismatic and ENTJs use Se to be impactful, every type relies on their 3rd function much more than people realise, could you imagine if ENTPs weren't innately emotionally intelligent?

A few things. First, this chart is for family income, so the average income would be close to half what you're seeing. Also, Americans have a few massively wealthy outliers that skew the whole income distribution, which is why any legitimate static will show median instead of mean income. Lastly, MBTI is a complex and intellectual (if pseudoscientific) subject. People who are even aware of it, let alone know their types, are a self selecting sample that is probably a good bit smarter and more educated than the general population. You can bet your ass that kids in the ghetto aren't talking about MBTI.

I agree with that a good deal. I think the first and third functions are ones you can use consciously, while the second and fourth are more subconscious and *cough cough* intuitive. BUT, the third and fourth functions are your underlying motivations, which can often conflict with each other, and the first two functions are your methods of making it happen. You use your first function to make your last function's desires happen and use your second to make the third function happen.

The Se in ENTJs massively contributes to their bravado and quest to make life into a fun/actiony/hedonistic movie.

I have a few close friends and find almost everyone else annoying and shallow. I'm naturally pretty flippant and essentially laugh off anything that's serious. As far as emotions go I'm pretty much the same, I pretty much never express them properly and that's probably why I'm not asking out this girl I like, just because I don't know how why or what to say to her. Idk what my life goals are, I'm just kinda waiting to see where everything takes me at this point.

I havent cried in yeeaaars. I dont feel much when people die either. I'm not trying be a rawr ecks dee here, but in general I think INTPs have enough emotional disconnect and sit in their minds enough (at least that's what I, an INTP) to reach really cold states of mind. INTPs have also been found to be schizoids by far the most frequently. Any other INTPs here who get what im talking about?

I like dutchko because death is so dispassionate in her work. It's meaningless and empty, a bullet delivered by uncaring people into a hopeless conscript that was almost certain to die from the very beginning. Really stimulating.

Sounds a lot like my problems as an ENTP. I've done basically this, go through lots of people trying to find the ones who aren't put off by my inner thoughts, keeping those as my core friends and keeping it shallow with everyone else, different people for different things. A lot of people find it easy to call me a friend or feel close to me, but it's rare I feel that way with anyone else.
>>
>>36001860
Well, to put things in context, in our evolutionary tribal past we would've lived in a tribe of 50-100 people. Those are the only people you'd know your whole life and anyone else you met would try to kill you and rape your sister.

So I figure 5+ real friends is actually pretty good, historically speaking. If everyone else likes you on top of that then you're killing it.

Jung theorized that the focus of your dominant function (introverted or extroverted) determined how your personality would manifest in the world with the three supporting functions focusing in the opposite direction supporting each other in a hierarchical structure from the bottom up. In INxJs inferior Se can be said to be very represented in personality all the time because it is the very weak, underdeveloped and highly sensitive Se that the world is filtered through to get into Ni. Isabel Myers thought that everyone has 2 extroverted and 2 introverted functions, everyone also has 2 judging and 2 perceiving functions and their hierarchy in structure determines personality. From the myers-briggs view the dominant and secondary functions are more consciously operating where the bottom of the half lies unconscious operating/guilty pleasures. Also the first extroverted function you display will obviously be the first you show to the world supported by the others with a mix of however your lower extroverted function is represented.
