I love detective stories. And I'm worried that in the future, as technology gets too good, it will be impossible to write good detective stories because crime-catching technology is too sophisticated.

I've always liked reading and writing. Although I have a science-based major, I work part-time as a freelance writer. I contribute 40 articles per month to a legal blog and have been published in magazines across the world. Every so often, I'll be approached directly by clients who want me to do a special interest-story.
I'd love to write a book of some sort but I always procrastinate and delay and delay and delay. I constantly stress myself out by coming up with ideas, refusing to commit them to paper, and tell myself that I'll do it tomorrow.
I'm afraid of failure and not living up to my own expectations for success. Every time I read a particularly good story or well-presented work, I wonder why I should bother trying myself.
