Do any of you live in flyover bumblefuck areas like this?

I've always wondered what people in these areas are like and what they do for fun.

Some rural areas can be nice at least, but then there are places like the Oklahoma panhandle that seem boring as shit. Ditto for many other rural areas in the US.
>>
Not American but rural shitholes are pretty much the same everywhere

People do drugs and each other
>>
>>35984339
Unless you live in some fuckhuge city of million, there isn't a lot more to do on the coast than inland regions.
>>
>>35984339
I live in Bumblefuck, South Dakota.

It's honestly not too bad for a robot. Quiet, lots of space.
>>
>>35984362
Basically anywhere on the coasts is within a 2 hour drive of a big city. Except for maybe far Northern New England.
>>
>>35984339
Canadian here.

Back when we lived in Ottawa I would stay inside and play video games while complaining about not having a girlfriend.
Since having moved to a puny town near Lake Huron, I stay inside and play video games while complaining about not having a girlfriend.
>>
>>35984392
If I lived there I'd just try to sniff Native American girls' butts
>>
>>35984404
Even if you're an hour away from a big city you won't be going there more than once a week.
>>
Ever notice how nothing ever happens in this area of the world? It's because they're all poor and inbred. Just like Africa.
>>
>>35984421
I'm not a normie, but I like being able to interact with other people at least. If I lived in the middle of nowhere it would probably be even harder for me to get laid.
>>
>>35984339
Drink, meth, shoot things, cry
>>
I live in Liberal, Kansas. It's just north of the little red area there.

Life here is exactly like King of the Hill except it's 2017.
>>
>>35984440

Well most people work 5 days a week so there wouldn't be much more free time than that anyway

If you weren't a normie you wouldn't be abe to get laid in the biggest cities on earth.
>>
>>35984474
I bet that the name is ironic as fuck

Probably like 80%+ Republican
>>
>>35984480
I got laid like twice in my life. Lost my virginity at age 21.

>>35984480
She's not ugly

Just a couple minor adjustments and she'd be hot
>>
Why do people care about the panhandle? Seen this question before...

I wrecked my 110k Audi cruing through there at night thinking I could make a shortcut sans interstate highways flying down straight farm roads but took a racoon to the radiator instead.
>>
>>35984474
What is there to do there? Any nightlife? Have you got any Mexican ass yet?
>>
>>35984548
It's one of the most barren inhabited parts of the US, it looks like 1933.
>>
>>35984568

Not everyone enjoys bars and clubs and shit.

>A characteristically rural district, the 1st is one of the most conservative districts in the nation. Republicans dominate every level of government, often winning by well over 70 percent of the vote on the occasions they face any opposition at all.
>>
So goddamn empty.

And this is the "city" of the area.

>>
>>35984593
It's just an inquiry, dude.

>>35984595
What I expected. I wonder how they've reacted to all the immigration in the area considering how Republican the area is.
>>
>>35984474
Dude no shit? I live in dodge city man. 2 hrs
>>
I live just about in the West Virginian panhandle in Randolph county and it's really nice, very beautiful outdoors. But you really have to be able to make your own fun because if you can't find yourself something to do, you won't enjoy it. There's not really nightlife or anything and the town is small, it's hard to meet anyone.
>>
>>35984339
I used to live in Rural Washington and all I did was drink and smoke pot all the time.

All things considered that's pretty close to Liberal, yeah.

>>35984616
Mostly old white people and younger Mexican families. Important to realize that being Mexican in OK/TX/southern KS isn't abnormal at all.

See map for how it breaks down in Liberal.
>>
>>35984480
This chicks good to go.

Anon, you aren't a Virgin are you?
>>
>>35984339
I wondered this too. Honestly I cannot talk about 4chan in real life. Some of the language here is so unacceptable in person. I used the term "country bumpkin" I learned from here and everyone in the room gasped. I'm so ashamed!!!
>>
>>35984787
So are the Republicans in that area of a different breed than the Breitbart kind?
>>
>>35984404
Far Northern Calfiornia isn't.
>>
>>35984793
I tend to look at girls in the sense of "Could I spend the rest of my life with that, not "Could I stay hard while looking at that for an hour and then never see her again". My only physical expectation is that a girl have an average face, otherwise she can be fat or whatever.
>>
>>35984860
could be worse. When I look at chicks in public all I can think about is how 2d is better. Once you go 2d there is no going back.
>>
>>35984840
Not even Portland?
>>
>>35984892
California is enormous man. It spans nearly half the vertical distance of the country.
>>
>>35984860
but she's actually kinda cute and could be even cuter with some small adjustments

if that chick was sweet I'd date her
>>
>>35984892
From Google Maps, its about 5 hours to Portland and SF, and Sacramento is 4.5 hours. If you can drive 330 miles in 2 hours then maybe it is true.
>>
>>35984911
>>35984954
so there might be some areas like that, but the vast majority of CA residents live in or near a city

It's over 3 hours from San Luis Opisbo to SF to the north and LA to the South. There are not that many big cities on the west coast. LA and SF Bay Area are huge, but Portland, Sacramento and Seattle are not as big. The biggest clustering of people is within 500 miles radius from Cleveland.

It's a toss up. I live in bumfuck Montana half the year to work construction, and I get to bike beautiful trails, workout way more often, shoot off my front deck and go fishing anytime I want. The downside is I drink and smoke waaay more once nighttime hits because there's nothing to do at that point (closest place I get a cell signal is 45 minutes away).
So if you're a more active and can get over having to read or write or whatever for entertainment, it can be nice.

Absolutely. There is literally nothing to do. You can go to the movie theater, bowling, bars or restaurants. Same as literally anywhere that isn't Africa but aside from that there is nothing. Probably why Midwestfags are so over represented on 4chan, all we do is browse the internet.

Actually I think Pittsburgh is closer to the population epicenter.
Chicago, NYC, Boston, Philly, Baltimore, Richmond, Norfolk-Va. Beach, Charlotte, some of metropolitan Atlanta, Nashville, Louisvlle, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Chicago, Indianapolis, Milwaukee, Detroit, Columbus (OH), Toronto, Hamilton, Buffalo, Ottawa, and Montreal lie within 500 miles of Pittsburgh.

I don't have any. I think a connection is possible with satellite, but seeing as I'm only up there part of the year, I don't shell out for it. I might eventually.

Are the bars any good? Or just old man white trash bars?
>>
>>35985369
I just listed it as something people do. I don't actually go to them. Probably normie central.
>>
>>35985423
I'm not a normie and I like bars, gives me something to do on Saturday nights
>>
>>35984339

I lived rural areas in Wisconsin for most my life. Right now I live in a small town but, plan to go back. I fucking love it. For "fun" I would go hiking, fishing, ride dirt bikes. Its the greatest way to live to me.

You guys don't know the definition of boring until you've lived in Nebraska your whole life.
