Why did /r9k/ turn out the way it is?

This is a red board which means that it's strictly for adults (Not Safe For Work content only). If you see any illegal content, please report it.

The concept of this board is that no posts can be repeated. When the concept was first started, you would probably guess that it would turn into a fairly interesting board, always with new content and new topics. Instead, the main topic on /r9k/ seems to be pretty much the same thing - being lonely, being a virgin, not having a girlfriend, feeling inadequate to chads, etc.

Why did it turn out like this?
>>
The first 2 years were the best. People use to share stories and such. Frog posting should have been banned
>>
That bridge looks awesome, got any pics of it at night in higher resolution?

Because people started getting older.

For a while you can get away with occupying yourself with video games, porn, this very board, etc... but after a while it just stops working, usually around your mid to late twenties. Then you start getting lonely, depressed and panicking over how your life has turned out and wonder where everything went wrong.

What happened is that during our teens and early twenties, we didn't "grow up" the way we should have and missed key milestones. Stuff that you can't easily catch up on, if at all. And we try to blame everyone around us for it but more often than not it's because of ourselves.

>Frog posting should have been banned
Images should have been included in the filter. It's easy to get around, but it would stop people from being as lazy, and eventually after a few million years all possible frogposts would be bannable.

At first, people really fixated on the idea of being better than /b/, where most /r9k/ posters came from. That was the 'Gentleman Era'. This notion of superiority spurred some interesting content, stuff that may be dismissed as blogposting in another context. The robot instilled an attitude that posters here are unique and intelligent, so they started posting their woes which supposedly come along with those traits. I was gone for several years, but in between it seems to have snowballed into a total renunciation of the world.

Now that I think of it, it seems the natural conclusion of the board's premise. But maybe I am just rationalizing.

I like coming back here because I have changed so much since my first 4chan phase, and this place both has and has not.

I did 'grow up,' and can no longer relate with the beliefs which predominate in this board. But I can understand them and so I still lurk

Because robots want to be chad. So they ape the hierarchy-driven social structure of the normals, just inversely. It's not enough to share a sense of brotherhood- you have to be the MOST depressed the MOST miserable the MOST destined by jesus who is the Christ. Son of the lamb, Amen, to be a failure and hated in all things.

Robots still want to "win" in our little fish tank society
>>
>>35972991
this exactly. I want to say I don't blame anyone for my situation but I can't help but feel that between being homeless and having a single mother who didnt' want to get me medicated I was destined for failure. I'm only 22 and I can catch up in the next few years but everyone around me has families or at the very least prospects. I feel like a failure every day.

This, /r9k/ used one of the boards with the least amoutn of basement dwelling losers. To create interesting greentexts you had to have a social circle, or a job, or at least leave the house.

Yeah, everyone was a little bit spergy, and spilled a lot of spaghetti, but slowly over time the functioning healthy users left, the utter retards moved in.

Prague and all Czech Republic are very nice places
I was there in Erasmus and spent all my free time travelling and discovering the countryside
And Czech people are also very nice and helpful even tho nobody speaks english

Weren't there less boards back then? If /sci/ or /his/ didn't exist then a lot of that stuff would probably go here. Same with stuff like /ck/ or /an/. Yesterday's April Fools prank really reminded me of that. I'm not saying we need to get rid of boards, but the more boards you have the more spread out the content will be.

I remember that moot was always very hesitant to add new boards, because he knew it would have diminishing returns of stagnating discussion.

Funny that /r9k/ used to be a bunch of fedoras who called themselves "gentlemen". Funny how the progression of all these socially isolated young men turned from being harmless autists into incredibly bitter and disillusioned people.

There was also a time when /r9k/ was mostly about gender politics, "MRAs" and such. Now it's just people posting their sexual fetishes.

You're watching the decline of western civilisation

Other people are to blame. My dad would get angry with me over silly shit and say things like "why can't you be normal", I would cry in class and no one would give a shit, teachers ignored me, even a jobs advisor took the piss "you don't have many friends do you", when my mother died of cancer and my grades dropped, instead of sending me to the school counsellor or something they just expelled me. I was a basically still a kid who didn't know any better and easily 90% of people literally paid to educate me and help me did not.

Normies preach about morality but they all indulge in this instinct to treat beta males like subhumans. They're animals.

I wish I was being edgy or making up excuses. I look back trying to excuse what they did, I don't want to believe my father actually gave in to some animalistic instinct to bully me and shun the beta male, but I can't get it out of my head.

Normies pretend they are all goody2shoes, but then they have these emotionywotions in their little brains and they instantly react to them. They go right ahead and harm another sapient being out of some neurotic sadism. They just do it. Like a pedophile who sees a vulnerable kid and goes right ahead and diddles them. It is disgusting.
