Why do birthdays always make me feel so depressed?

you want people to remember on their own even though you pretend not to care about it
also your youth is slowly slipping away and you're likely past any important milestone ages

The way other people celebrate it puts a lot of pressure on you to do the same. But if you're not a huge extrovert it's just painful.

I fucking hate birthdays too. I'm more concerned with the expectations of the above than the actual aging though. Turning 30 is scary because I know people will be asking about what I'll be doing.
