You have to be an asshole to do that.
Dating someone means you like the for what they are. That means they're not below average for you, they are above average. The mere thought of having to call my (first) girlfriend below average makes me want to cringe from feeling like an asshole.
Does this mean that I am an asshole, because I am aware of it, but just too afraid to say that other people might not find her as attractive (objectively) as I find her? Holy shit, I am a hypocrite and asshole. I want to die.
