>be me, Eastern-European unemployed guy
>start a conversation with my mother about those who leave our country for a better, Western-European life
>tell her how I understand their struggles (as I already said I'm broke and without a job)
>but I'm also mad, because they could also work on the betterment of our country, instead of running away
>mother always use the argument "But you also don't do anything" and "They couldn't do anything".
>tell her that yeah, I can't do shit alone
>also it's the poor people who will suffer if every decent workman leaves the country
>father comes home
>he hates me for being unemployed (and also hates me in general)
>hears that I'm trying to make my country a better place to live
>he's supposed to be a left-wing "proletarian", by the way
>immediately becomes agressive and says things like "You should work instead of this bullshit" under his breath
>a proletarian who hates revolutionists, wow!
>I try to continue the conversation with mother, but also lost all my faith in the whole thing
>I know that most people are like them: too afraid and passive to do anything or too simple-minded and violent
>father leaves
>tell mom that now I understand why people leave this country: because of the people
It's not the first time when my own family makes me give up the hope to save my country.
People either run away to the West cowardly or stay here and make sure that no one do anything productive and good.
Fuck this shit.

cont.
Don't get me wrong.
I hate being unemployed and I know how important is to work and earn money.
I respect my parents.
But every great change starts with a conversation between at least two people.
If we don't want to improve the state of the place we live, nothing will change.
And yeah, I get it: my parents lost faith in change. It's understandable.
But I find it really hypocritical that they always complain about the state of our coutry, but when I talk about change, they immediately turn hostile.
If they love living in a shithole, then don't complain.
My father is the worst: a left-wing socialist who thinks manual labour is the most important thing in life and work is absolutely for itself, it doesn't have a purpose or a way to improve stuff.
It's like he likes to be a mindless slave.
Oh, but he also complains.
Problem is: he's a contrarian.
I can't even have a decent conversation with him about politics, because he'll dislike everything I say (because I said it).
>>35942865
Are there any robots here who also experience stuff like this?
I want to "make my country great again", but politicians are corrupt and ingnorant as fuck in my country.
Also I'd need a lot of money to start my career.
I simply feel that change is needed.
But if people enjoy slavery, nobody can do shit about it.
And I'm not saying that "talking about politics" or "trying to make your country a better place" = /pol/.
People should just think and understand the situation.
Whatever.
I guess I'll lose my faith in humanity again.
Anyway: let's discuss politics and people in general.
Tell me how you discuss this stuff with your family, friends, etc
You gotta understand parents. They may even be on board with your ideas but some topics take precedence. Like health, insurances or paying the fucking rent.
Imagine yourself in their position, slaving away their life to come home and see this guy that's just chilling in front of his monitor all day.
>>35942942
doing your job is what makes a country better, not sitting around saying that you want to make it better
>>35942942
Just get a job dude. Too much free time is your problem. you overthink stuff.
>Also I'd need a lot of money to start my career.
You don't
There will ALWAYS be that elephant in the room, be it your grades, a job or getting married or moving out, they won't take you seriously until you resolve it. It's just their way of pushing you towards (what they think) is best for you.
>>35942948
This guy is so right. If you care so much, OP, and want to help there are numerous ways. Become a political activist, help non-profit organisations, donate money. Or just do what you said you wanted others to do and become a good specialist in your job. These are all non-violent ways to help your country.
>I would especially recommend planting trees or helping orphans
>there are always thousands of little trees avaliable but not enough manpower to plant them, speak to green organisations
>>35942948
I've lived alone for a while - I know how life works.
I know you have to pay for stuff.
Also I'm looking for a job actively (but yeah, my father doesn't believe me - long story, whatever).
>>35942974
Doing your job blindly won't help anyone.
Sometimes change is needed.
Why would anyone want to be a sheep?
And yeah, I'm talking about actively change stuff, not just talking about it.
But first discussions needed.
>>35942982
I was talking about a political career.
And while I will get a job (I have to, it's obvious), I can't be "YOLO, let the country hit the floor".
I can't watch my nation burn while doing nothing.
>>35942756
I'll give you some money for your revolution if you offer me your qt eastern sister or cousin OP.
>>35942942
>Anyway: let's discuss politics and people in general.
>become more right wing
>friends become more left wing
>lose all of my friends
That's about it.
>>35943002
Yeah, I know.
But, you know, if every revolutionist would listen to people like them, we'd still living in caves.
>>35943023
Oh, I don't want to use violence.
Bloody revolutions always caused a mess and fucked up everyone's life.
>I would especially recommend planting trees or helping orphans
I agree.
But I feel that we need political changes, too.
>>35943031
Hmm... I only have a bro and he's also taken.
Sorry, dude!
>>35943023
Just wanted to add you can donate objects too. Old clothes, toys, books, etc, can and WILL help an orphan kid. Donating my quite large book collection was one the best things I've done. I still feel good about it years later.
>>35943053
Shit, sorry about that, Anon!
Interesting: I don't even know what "wing" I am anymore.
I care for my nation, but I'm also not a bigot.
I want to help everyone, even the poor, but I'm not a blind libertard or a "hurr we need to burn wealthy people" communist.
Also I'm lucky, because I have friends from left and right and so I can discuss shit with all of them.
I'm a shitty, unmotivated, useless piece of shit that has no plans to work, so even though I want to move back to my country, I'd feel guilty doing so. Guess I'll keep leeching off the American taxpayer... It's better for my country if I don't live in it.
>>35943091
One side of my absolutely understands you.
HOWEVER: I feel the same with things like crime, for example.
If we'd change the system, that would prevent crime.
If we only put money in the police, crime won't stop, but violence will definitely grow.
If we'd put money in families, there would be far less orphans.
>>35943109
>Interesting: I don't even know what "wing" I am anymore.
Yeah, it's really an oversimplification, there's a lot more to it than that.
>>35943132
I see what you mean. I live in Bulgaria so we're poor as fuck and corruption is rampant. I talk about the system a lot too. I hope all the fucking politicians burn! But wanting to do a revolution TOMORROW, should not stop you from helping TODAY. Just do one good thing today, anon. You'll feel better, your depression will become milder, all your problems fade away...
>>35943139
Right?
My mother always says that I sound like a fascist / nazi.
But if I do a mental reality check, I see realistic, "normal", kinda liberal values.
On the other hand, I have many conservative values, like sanctity and importance of family and the love of my nation.
And I hate these uber-feministic and crazy-liberal ideas of the West.
Freedom need limits before it destroys itself.
>>35943172
You're a good kid, Anon.
I live in a country like you.
One day we might fight on the same side... for a better tomorrow.
>>35943216
>I live in a country like yours
fixed
>>35943025
If everybody just did their job, there would be no need for any revolutions, instead of trying to change the entire world, start with yourself first
>>35943198
>My mother always says that I sound like a fascist / nazi.
That's everybody's go-to label for anybody to the right of the far-left.
To be fair, it probably does apply to me quite accurately now, but I remember people calling me that years ago when I expressed just some basic nationalist views.
At this point, I think we're just at the end of our civilisation, and politics has become a complete circus.
If it's all going to collapse, I hope it happens soon.
I want a chance to build up a life again afterwards; a societal collapse when I'm a middle aged man would probably be the end of me, even if I didn't die in some stupid conflict, I'd not have enough time to have a family afterwards.
>>35943249
Some wisdom in this post. Brb trying to change myself for the better. Today starts very good for a change! I love you all guys ITT.
>>35943249
Changing yourself is good.
Mindlessly following orders and doing pointless jobs are not.
We should stop pointless work.
>>35943253
>At this point, I think we're just at the end of our civilisation, and politics has become a complete circus.
>If it's all going to collapse, I hope it happens soon.
My thoughts exactly.
I still can be optimistic... sometimes.
And then I interact with my family and all my hopes are gone.
>I want a chance to build up a life again afterwards; a societal collapse when I'm a middle aged man would probably be the end of me, even if I didn't die in some stupid conflict, I'd not have enough time to have a family afterwards.
I don't know, man.
I mean yeah, civilization might be already over.
But I feel that mankind has failed, too.
There would be no post-apocalyptic future... not for humanity, anyway.
>>35943347
Dude, by all statistics we live in the best of times there ever was. War is down, murder is down, rape is down, slavery is kinda lower (but still bad).
https://www.vice.com/en_us/article/right-now-is-the-best-time-in-history-to-be-alive
>>35943404
"Best times" is relative.
I find pic related an accurate guide to our world.
>>35943439
Just read the fucking article, dude, or the book for that matter. You're worrying about your own wellbeing and missing the big picture.
>>35943310
It doesn't have to be pointless, do something that you believe helps improve the community you live in, do what you think everybody else should be doing in order to make your county great
>>35943404
Yes, because of the work done by previous generations.
We've become complacent.
I'm not concerned about the current year, but about what it is going to result in in a decade or two.
>>35943690
Well, the current trends is it's getting better and better. You have NO reason to think otherwise BUT your subjective feelings...
>>35943724
Do you think this will be a problem in the future?
>>35943724
If we would be on /pol/, I'd say that you are a shill.
