It's definitely my favorite anime, it's not romance themed like you said you wanted but if you want something to make you feel like absolute shit it's the one. Be warned though that you may well be fucked up for a while after watching in a way few shows or movies will do to you. It's really slow at the start too but it's definitely worth it
