Edgar Aetheling, last male member of the house of Wessex, he can be found after 1066 as a count in England. Play him and throw the normans out and return saxon rule to England and stop the spread of English culture.

House de Lusignan can be found as counts in lower France under the duchy of Aquitaine if I remember correctly, they go on the rule Jerusalem and Cyprus, try and do the same.

House von Hapsburg, start as counts around Switzerland, try and recreate the Austro-Hungarian Empire, focus on inheritance based expansion, staying in historical borders.

House von Hohenzollern, they start near Bavaria, create a Prussia and then Germany, staying in historical borders.

The Palaiologos dynasty were the final rulers of the Byzantine Empire, you can choose to play them once they have become Emperors of the Empire and push back the turks or you can find them in some start dates ruling over a duchy in Greece. You could always locate them in your realm as the Emperor, land them and then play as them. Then you can usurp/inherit the throne.

Can't remember any more atm, its more fun if you deliberately challenge yourself. Let that fuck up son inherit instead of assassinating him.

Johan stole my soul, I must buy CK2 DLC. I refuse to buy songs, Indians, dynasty shields and unit models.

Stellaris and HOI4 pretty boring to me. Multi-player (the only way to play these games because Paradox refuse to improve their AI) always results in two giant alliance blocks that fight each other until the end of the game. These alliances are ALWAYS player/friendship based. People refuse to roleplay their national interests or even play geopolitics. They just jack off with their already established friend groups and attack the AI. This often leads to illogical alliances mechanics wise, historically wise and self interest wise.

If you're a massive normie and you and your mates all want to just play multiplayer and kill the AI then these games are great.


Eu4 had great multiplayer until people formed these friendship groups, these friendship groups actually transcended games and were also present in HOI4 and Stellaris.

All these games could probably be enjoyed if people played the situation and not group drama.


Mechanically and content speaking Stellaris and HOI4 are pretty bare bones so I have less than 200 hours in Stellaris for example.
