I feel like the age gap matters more when one or both people are under 25. 15/18 is two entirely different levels of maturity and stages of life, one could be just starting high school while the other goes off to college. Or they could be a high school sophomore and senior, which would seem a lot less questionable.

Even 18 and 22 can be frowned upon, especially if the 18 year old is still in high school and the 22 year old is out of college. So your question is kind of ambiguous.
