Id like to forget about 1 person ruling the country or whatever, it should really be a group of people. If your opinions are never challenged because you are at the top you are more prone to make a mistake and then another one that has basis in your previous one. The prince had far superior education and on top of that he is being raised to be a king, his whole life since birth is just a build up to him becoming the king. Whats just and unjust is subjective though you could find a pattern when asking multiple people, injustice id say is easily identifiable.
As far as lies go, in this particular context, if you lie about everything youre going to do whats in power and then do nothing or exact opposite you are harming everyone that supported you and maybe others that didnt. Sure nobody gives a shit if you lie about what you ate last night, but when it comes to making promises about how youre going to lead a country, much different.
And of course there is the emotional element in all of this and thats that people feel betrayed when they realise you lied, they trust you less, and without trust most relationships die.
There is a saying, far from the eyes far from the hearth, if nobody knows you lied i guess it doesnt matter, but the longer you lie on top of a lie, its easier to discover that somethings wrong. And the more you lied the more betrayal the people you lied to will feel.
