talked to a recruiter during my senior year of HS (2011). told them i was on anti depressants and even admitted that i had marks on my leg. It may sound stupid but i figured they're gonna find out anyway so i hoped that there might be a chance. recruiter said he'll see what he can do. got a phone call 1 week later saying that i cant join.
Ive always wanted to join the military but ever since i got that phone call i just fell deeper into the hole.

Don't let the door hit ya on the ass on yer way out.

When I was at MEPS recently, the USMC liasion (applicant screener, professional griller and cross examiner of nervous high school kids) showed me a stack of granted waivers for some crazy shit including being on anti depressants and self harm scars. he did this in an attempt to get me to confess to medical history which i don't have.
if you still want to, you have a chance. the military as a whole is upsizing due to trump and waivers will likely have a better chance of going through.
If you can talk to your doctor and get your depression un-diagnosed, or resolved or whatever, you could likely do it. That's really all MEPS cares about, and pleasing MEPS is all your recruiter wants to do.
This is all still assuming you even want to, just saying it's possible.

it's too late for me man. i've gotten into some really bad shit. been on and off xanax and through different jobs. my family accepted me back which is nice but i doubt they'll let me stay here for long. You got something wonderful ahead of you, becoming a marine is one of the greatest things anyone can do. Good luck getting that eagle, globe and anchor.
