Ashes of Ariandel is short with not much content, but what is there is pretty fantastic besides the option boss, which is fairly lackluster. Really good atmosphere in this DLC too.

The Ringed City is fucking great in all aspects, and is a great conclusion to the series.

Actually this is a good place to ask, how much damage should I be doing to Vendrick? I literally do not remember ANYTHING about the game, I had a 10+ blacksteel katana and an 8+ halberd and I was hitting around 100 damage on him, I googled the thing about giants souls and I had 4

I'll probably just leave it for another day or finish the standard part of the game and go NG+
I feel like I'm missing out since it's pirated too so no invasions, though I have dark souls 1 completed with all achievements on steam and was never once invaded but that's because I got into the game too late

S&O are easy shit, you have to use the pillars in the room to control Smough's position while you kill Ornstein first. Then once it's just Smough the boss is easy.

Dark Souls is good, but Bloodborne is damn near flawless.

I could never get into two and three desu

Three just pissed me off beyond what a game normally would. Not because it was hard, but because it became so tedious if you actually wanted to fight the enemies instead of just run past them. It was like the enemies all had 4-7 hit combos and infinite stamina, so you'd spend more time just blocking/rolling waiting for the combo to stop so you could hit them a couple of times while doing fuck all damage. Although part of that problem probably could have been fixed if I wasn't something like level 36 at the castle with the solar eclipse and two dragons.

The problem with DaS3, I found, was that they transposed too many enemies that had Bloodborne-esque speed and movesets, which are tedious to deal with without BB's dash/ranged parry mechanics.

I felt like I could get comfortable with the enemies over time with DaS and BB. I kind of rarely felt that with DaS3, even if everyone insists the game is super easy.

I've read that a lot, and while I haven't played or really even seen anything about BB, that snowy level that looked BB-esque felt like the tipping point for what you've said. In fact, that was probably the worst area for it. Those tall skinny enemies just moved so fucking quick and had so many attacks and when you combine that with the fact that you either had to bait them out one at a time or fight 2-3 at the same time and struggle with the bullshit, it just got so boring that it was easier to just run past everything.

The amount of enemies they'd throw at you at once was also another huge fucking problem. I remember that when you went left around the bridge that the two dragons watched over, there was just 3 normal enemies and a stronger one standing huddled together for no fucking reason at all beyond "lets just put shit here to fill it in."

There's a bit of a dependence on relfex, so I usually don't recommend souls games to older dudes.
Though there are some general things to keep in mind:
>if an enemy is attacking, get out of the way
>attack when the enemy isn't
>learn to parry, kick, and shield split

Because DS1 is the only one with good atmosphere and nobody plays it
I beat DS2 without even really trying and the PVP is shitty
DS3 is just disappointing, armor means absolutely nothing meaning the only viable builds are "run around naked with a spear"

I just started with DS1 my frist dark souls, level 57 and just got out of the library area and into the forest/crystal place. The fast guy/fat guy bossfight was very fun, but took me 10(?) attempts. I stopped my last playthrough because I didn't know where to go in that crystal place. I know there are invisible bridges, and that fairy cunt, but I couldnt kill it because I dont have ranged attacks, and dont know where else to go.

Run past the butterflies (unless you want to farm blue titanite) the first invisible bridge leads to a crystal golem I think, you can usually slip past him with ease, and make it to another butterfly, from here, go around the butterfly and drop down to another invisible bridge that leads to some clams. Behind the clams is the room where you fight seath. Shatter the primordial crystal to be able to damage him, and then unload on him and dodge his slow attacks. If you want to cut his tail, hang out directly in front of him and wait for him to start doing the crystal breath attack, and immediately rush behind him and get hits in about midway to the end of his back tentacle.

Dark souls 1 PvP is dead, and PvE past the point of Anor Londo (Except for Nito and Seath) feels dry. Dark Souls 2 PvE is garbage, PvP might be balanced, but not as fun as DKS1. Bloodborne is for PS4, I don't have one of those, same reason why I can't play Dark souls 3 and PS3 for Demon Souls, another thing I don't have.

I charged through DS3 easily till I got to the nameless king.

Holy fucking hell, that's the hardest boss I've played in any game ever. I must of tried 50+ times legitimately and cheese attempts with that violin 3 shot crossbow maxed out.

I just can't figure out his wierd patterns. My brain can't do it. I always managed solo every boss in every game but not nameless king. The only time I rage quit any video game

NK isn't bad at all if you get a decent pattern on first phase.

Just don't get greedy and remember to roll into him, not away from him. Use a fast weapon and you can stagger him and he's also vulnerable to bleed.

Melee is probably a better approach for NK. Sorceries/miracles if they her you better damage and you can get the timing down while maintaining enough distance.

Bleed racks up pretty quick, but don't try to get in more than 3 hits at a time even with a fast weapon because you need to focus on his attacks so you can roll out of them.

Take advantage of invincibility frames, there's a ring which helps a bit in this regard.

Some items trigger a permanent ban in DS3, like titanite slabs, of which you can only possibly obtain 11 per playthrough. But you can wait out the ban and return to PvP after they reset the servers like once a month.

I know I'm gonna get shit for this, but I've never been able to get into the Souls games.

I tried Demon's Souls and Dark Souls 1 and just found them more tedious than anything. Too much stuff about the game seems to rely on repetition and trial and error and I always felt like the controls were a bit "off." I liked the actual combat mechanics but not much else about the game.

I guess I can see how the game would be fun once you've gotten really good at it, especially if you're the kind of person who likes min-maxing characters and stuff like that, but I'd rather play a competitive game against unpredictable real people if I'm going to devote that much time and energy into a game.
