First off, that's a painting. It's not real.

Second off, it's not depicting a real thing that happened. Autists being radio MCs in the 60s was never a thing.

Third off, the last thing an autist would want to be doing is streaming themselves to a large demographic of people. They struggle with communication and talking to people is a chore.

Finally, this would be exponentially worse in the 1960s. Development disorders weren't considered or appreciated and it wouldn't be until 30 years later that we would begin to understand it and make exceptions for it. An actual autist in the 1960s would be forced to live a normal life or be disowned by his parents and be mocked and belittled by everyone for having issues communicating.

Whatever logic you put together when you saw this image is wrong. Autists did not live life on the free and easy being radio MCs in the 1960s but if you really like that idea you can still do it now.

You can't even take your suburban friends out to eat, because they'll be rude and dismissive to waitstaff you're on a first-name basis with.
