I was 3 years old in 97.
I think I remember the video game stores but I'm not sure if that was then or a few years later. Still was in the 90's, though.
They were full of tvs playing different game demos off of chinese famiclones. VERY distracting to any kid passing by.
The games came in yellow cartridges and you could get whole bunch of excellent oldschool NES and SNES games for less than 5 USD.
