there are very few humans who do not have sexual feelings when they have reached puberty (and some have them even before that). this includes women.

it was your erroneous and illogical assumption that this girl did not have sexual feelings but just because she has sexual feelings, that doesn't mean she isn't innocent, naive or a virgin. young females often project their sexual feelings onto men that are out of reach (older guys, celebrities, musicians) because it is a safe outlet to mentally explore the concept of sex. it probably makes her feel uncomfortable when you call her cute because this is not a fantasy. it's real life and she is probably inexperienced in dealing with possible sexual advances and is worrying that if she shows approval, that you might become more aggressive and she will have to back off from the friendship before things get messy.
