Anybody else like the concept of, or already been/is, being a vagabond? last fall and winter I posted several threads discussing the possibility of becoming a vagabond. I'm now 90% commit ed to going through with it, so I'll be posting about it and shit. I got together some touring bike gear with the little money I had, and I've more or less worked out how to survive, by practicing extended camping trips. I'll be leaving sometime within the third week of July. Oh, and I don't plan to steal shit or beg for money, but I will take advantage of other things I can get for free in the way of transportation and food, so feel free to call me a parasite or a leech or whatever your favorite term is. I don't have any problem with admitting that I'm going to be taking advantage of societies generous members to survive.

I'm a drifter, but not by choice. I was kicked out when I 17 and ever since I've sorta just wandered from place to place.
it's honestly pretty shitty but it's better than being tied down I guess.

I did it for about a year but mom found out and forced me to come back.

How.
Vagabond reporting in. Presently in Colorado. It's cold and shitty and it's sposed to rain. Doesn't help that I've been sick lately, and fatigued, and in general extremely demoralized.
Where you at OP? Will this be your first time out?
I've done that. It's LOTS OF FUN. But very dangerous. Carry a knife with you always and don't be afraid to draw it first! If someone else puts a knife to your neck you're screwed.
Yes, it is that dangerous.

I'm thinking of vagabonding to go to the city to follow my dreams in music
Fuck it if dubs I'll do it next week
Go for it I recently watched a video about homeless people in my class and their where some people who lived under a bridge and liked being homeless so they saved up their money and went for a night out every now and then. They went to pubs/bars and flirted with women and got laid sometimes.
Out has a homeless general that you can get some more info out of. I lurk there quite a bit, I'm not very /out/ myself I just wish I went hiking more.

How did she force you to come back if you were living self sufficiently on your own for a year?
