See this is where I think a phone call is worse. A date is not a sales call. If a guy called me up and started aggressively asking me out, 100% of the time I'll hang up out of sheer nervousness. A text is more laid back. I have time to check my schedule and think about it. If it's well-written and direct, I'll always at least reply
