this bothers me. a lot of "robot music" threads feature Elliot Smith, but he was a total drugchad who had multiple girlfriends (as far back as high school) and got laid all the time. plus like 90% of his songs are about relationships or talk about love in some way.

i honestly don't know if there are any real robots in music. maybe nick drake. chopin was kind of a robot. i just don't know.

The issue is that becoming a musician famous enough for us to know about them by definition rids them of their robothood. If they were such a robot, they wouldn't be famous enough for us to know about them. Maybe I'll traipse around SoundCloud and look for some unknown artist.
