Windows XP is the goat. If I ever git gud at programming I might make modern device drivers for it.

I installed it on a VM to set up VH but straight up couldnt get anything installed on it because websites literally won't load in IE6 anymore, not even to let you get a newer browser, and because MS turned off updates from XP you cant use it to download IE7 or IE8

Windows 7 is the new XP, or will be soon. Microsoft has not been making many friends with Windows 10. I won't be upgrading to it at all.

people still do. windows xp was microsofts magnus opum, but xp embedded for embedded systems is a fucking beast. I have used it very recently at jobs for controlling systems, flow processes, engines, etc. and it is still microsofts best effort.

i have an small form factor touch screen system at home with xp on it.
