Greetings /r9k/, I come from the far away land of /out/. I have visited here before and posed this question: "why don't you all get the fuck out?".

But seriously, why don't robots like the outdoors? I mean hiking, camping, ect ect.

If you're shy but just want to meet people, it's a great way to bond with others. If you prefer to be alone, it's amazing the solitude and introspective view you can find being alone outside, away from the distractions thay surround you.

Why not give it a shot? Is be glad to help. Tell me why you don't get the fuck /out/?
>>
Hi Anon, I doubt anyone here will respond to this appeal, but I wish you happiness in the outdoors. It seems like a strong antidote to the evils that beset robots.
>>
Last time in posed this question I had a lot of responses. Mostly excuses, but I understand.

Sc/out/s and robots are really not all that different.
>>
>>35796930
I think /out/ is where I would hang out if I were a better person.
Some day I hope to have the strength to go full MGTOW, when that happens I will make a point of visiting more.

Camping alone is great, but friends always makes it better.

If you're in college find a hiking or outdoors club, it's usually pretty laid back people, and honestly like I said before, sc/out/s and robots have a lot in common.

If not in school, just start hiking at a local trail. You'll randomly run into people and they're usually pretty cool.

More comfy pic

But I do go out! It's awesome. I recommend it to other robots. Yes, it's true that you might not be able to go on 4chan. But if you like to do nothing in particular, you can't beat doing it outside. Plus, if you want to bring a gameboy, who am I to judge?
>>
>>35797287
You'd be surprised.

Over at /out/, we call you guys normie. People who stay inside are the normie.

I really enjoy sleeping alone in the woods, in a hammock, in sub 0 F temps. Am I really that normal?

Attaboy anon

What prompted me to come here originally was a story posted months ago by a robot. It was about him going on a camping trip with a hiking club at his achool, few dudes (one called YEEAAHHH BUDDY) and a few girls.

He spent the trip worrying about spaghetti in his pockets but somehow ended up making out, seeing boobs, and getting his dick touched by one of the girls. It was a long, intense thread. Really wish I knew what happened to that guy.

He graduated that camping trip and got a girl who he was kinda dating, a cute red head chick. He went from spaghetti in his pockets to meatballing a ginger, all in one camping trip.

If you go somewhere relatively popular to hike, you'll see dozens of other people.

Since you're both hiking you instantly have something to talk about. The trail, how the weather is today, where the next trail goes, anywhere else around to hike, where's the best place to eat after a day hike around here. Ect ect
>>
>>35797650
There's public land everywhere anon, just gotta find it. It's not hard to find either.

Gear to go out? You mean shoes and clothes? That's literally all you need to head to a state Park and hike a trail. Grab a backpack and put in 2 bottles of water, a snack, your phone, and just hike. Take pics, chill out, go for a dip in a stream. It's all good.

Well first off you can come to /out/ to ask questions and gain some knowledge.

But start small. Don't think you're going to go innawoods and surTHRIVE.

Camping isn't a survival show. It's about having fun and being comfortable.

Start by getting good shoes and day hiking. Hit up a state Park and check it out. It's super easy.

From there, learn about car camping, /out/ can help. If you love it that much you can move on to backpacking, but baby steps first.

Would love any ideas of places to travel (aside from popular touristy areas and city's, obviously. Anywhere beautiful with low amount of people)

Where do you live anon? Make sure you st as you hydrated.
>>
>>35796930
My country's literally flooded to death right now. These floods will also bring bugs in the future. I hate bugs. I'm physically weak and not too well-off as to get a car or any other means of private transportation through which to carry camping supplies. Hiking is dangerous and I don't know anybody who does it, so I can get no reliable advice. What little life I have, I have online, so if I were to go outside, I'd lose even that.

I don't think you get it, but to a robot like me, going outside might as well be a suicide attempt.
>>
>>35798598
AZ. I stay hydrated at home, but it's not possible outside without buying a water pack or something, so I can't go too far from sources of water (the city).
>>
There's a lot of people that going 'out' would require a trip since not everyone lives near a nice forest, lake, or some other natural paradise. I go out quite often, but I live in a rural area. If I lived within a city, I'd likely never go out into nature because I wouldn't feel like taking the time. It's also no fun once the weather reaches almost 100 degrees and there's a 98+% humidity index.

i gotta be honest i don't have much
a bit of food, some medical supplies, some lighters, a few things i think might come in handy, some hygiene stuff, a knife and that's about it.
Not nearly enough to survive long term but that's not really the goal i suppose

Even a largest cities can have surprising wilderness areas close by.

Take NYC for example. You can literally take a train right to the appalachian trail, do a day hike, and ride the train back to Manhattan.

/b/tard here. I once traveled to your far away land of /out/. Learned of a very elusive creature called Bigdick. Now recently am residing here in /r9k/ learning ways of the robot. Reminds me of home, except with less cancer. Soon enough I might find myself in another land.

Peru.
Driving a car is dangerous. Hiking is also dangerous. That's why I don't do any of both.

Almost all of my country is taken by man, anyways. What little "outdoors" there is is either expensive to get into or really run down and very displeasing to be at.

It's been 5 years since I arrived at this site and I don't visit as much as I once did. I'm not sure what the chan means nowadays that sites like this are more common and prevalent, but in any case your missive fills me with nostalgia and satisfaction for a journey well traveled.

Machu Picchu costs like 200$ a visit (no transportation fares included), and that's for foreigners. Locals have to pay even more because... I don't even know why, actually. Granted, you can sneak in but it's becoming harder in the last years.

What the hell do you think a third-world country focused on tourism is like? Of course they're going to milk it for all it's worth.

Enjoy your outdoors for me. I was not made for that kind of life. Hope you find better luck with other anons.

Yes, it's more expensive, but it's convenient.

Packing a regular lunch weighs a lot. A mountain house meal is dehydrated, and weighs next to nothing. You add hot water and in a few minutes it's done. It tastes good, and there's no clean up since it cooks in the bag.

You can dehydrate your own stuff, or carry other cheaper dehydrated meals, but in terms of convenience, those mountain house meals are the bomb.

Pic related to boil water.

I get them all the time as gifts anyways.

I like going outside, but physical and mental deficiencies keep me inside far too much. Between paranoia and anxiety, and lethargy and soreness, it can be a struggle. Sometimes I'll hear and see shit that isn't there and my heart will start racing, sometimes I can go for a 3 AM nightwalk without a problem. Sometimes I can chop down a tree or walk 20 kilometers, sometimes I'm too tired to haul my ass out of bed.

I'm kind of hoping to take a weekend to do drugs in the middle of nowhere at some point, but I want to find a friend to go with.
