I got out of punk music after my friends that got me into it as a teen moved from pop-punk to street punk. But I never discarded the worthless elitism that punk music gave me.
For example, if someone were to call blink 182 or green day punk, I would think less of them and their taste, even though my taste is music is honestly trash now
