Do rats make good pets?

i have two rats, one ive had for about a year and a half
one i've had for a few months now
they make amazing companions and you can teach them all kinds of things
they are also incredibly low maintenance
they're the robots dream pet

They can be. I know its not really "training" them, but teach them not to bite you or run away and they are really sweet companions.
They like environmental stimulation too, so maze-building or rat toys will make them very happy.

I love my rats to death. They like sitting on your shoulder, and mostly hiding down your shirt.

Sitting in bed with rats sleeping on your is super comfy. Though they tend to get cancer around 2 years, which means you have to say goodbye.
