There was a bit of time where I could not watch anime at all because of this. It was like I had short-term memory; I could acknowledge what they were saying, but I forgot about it the next scene because the daydream didn't allow it to be stored.

it happens to me with all forms of media i get completely sucked up into thought trails in my mind that lead to different universes and often i find it more entertaining than whatever i'm indulging in so i simply turn it off and sit there and think instead until it's dry, then i go back to whatever i was doing
