So my last grandparent passed away, and long story short i received 95k dollars as an inheritance.

What the fuck do i do? I'm a 31 year old KV NEET who can't hold a job for longer then a month.

What would you do?

Invest. Let it gain interest. Or get a stock broker and do that. You can live off of that money for the rest of your life.
>>
>>35757627
invest it properly and make sure it will support your neet life for as long as possible.
>>
>What would you do?

Buy a cheap plot of land and a trailer home. Live there comfortably rent free by myself.

Put a 10% down payment and get a mortgage on a foreclosed home. Rent it out and use the passive income to cover my expenses.

Invest in stocks, ask /biz/ what to do with it, they give good advice, I made thousands off of bitcoin when it took off. Don't waste it, this is your opportunity to strike it rich.

Not op but I could do that easy, got 200 acres of near usless land (20 airable) on a rual mountian in virginia that no one wants to buy for a fair price.

Use it to go to college or trade school, 31 isn't too old to get your degree/certificate nor is it too old to learn something useful.

Whatever you do don't blow it, this is big but you can waste 95k in less than a minute if you're dumb enough.
>>
Investor here. Don't believe the hype. 95k seems like a lot, but it's nowhere near enough to live on for a reasonable period of time.

I'd invest it in one of Vanguard's low-cost index funds. Making a downpayment on a good rental property is also ok, but that's a much more involved purchase and is not recommended unless you do a lot of homework and learning.

Also, you'd need to have significant job income to qualify for a mortgage, so you may not be able to do it.

>go to casino
>find roulette table
>bet it all on red because you can't trust blacks
>now you have 200K
>win a few times in a row and you will have enough for the perma-comfy NEET life

Leverage that shit brah.

Realize that 100 grand is irrelevant peanuts in today's western world. I'd probably a nice apartment in the city I'm studying in (which is expensive as fuck and living on campus doesn't exist in my country) and rent it out once u graduate. Maybe buy a new TV simce the 32" not even 1080p piece of shit is getting outdated. Keep the rest for whatever expenses life is gonna throw at me in the near future.

Meme probability aside I think the casino owners would break your legs and take the money back if you won that much.

How much return you get on a safe, boring investment?

Personally, I would invest it and pull the interest out. It might not be much but you can either work less or have extra money.

Are you people ever serious??? LMFAO
>>
Please just give it all to me

You will not regret it
>>

Invest it so that you can continue your meaningless existence for a little longer when your parents eventually kick you out or die.

So for an index fund, only some of the return is in the form of cash dividends. The rest is gain in equity, increase in stock price, which is harder to separate out and you shouldn't try to cash it out. The entire thing is set up to give a low cost of ownership, low tax profile and increase your net worth.

Historically (for whatever that's worth), the gain on these index funds are about 8-10%, plus another 1-2% in dividends. But like all things stock, it's crazy up and down, so it's made for the long haul.

But, to live off of a fund is a way, way different story. Studies have shown that you should only pull out 3-4% of the total fund value each year if you want to maintain the fund indefinitely. For 100k, that's about 3k per year

Here's a good article explaining things

http://www.mrmoneymustache.com/2011/05/18/how-to-make-money-in-the-stock-market/

Educate yourself before making any moves.
