Most bar soap brands unfortunately use animal fat, which is completely unnecessary. The ingredient is usually referred to as "tallowate." Any type of fatty substance has the same function, though. A soap could also be prepared from coconut oil, for instance. The fats bind to dirt, which is then washed away.

I do use bar soap, but I'm very careful about which brands I purchase. I really see no point in having to slaughter living, sentient beings just to remove dirt from my skin.

I am no-poo and no deodorant for a few years now. Feels great, my hair is always healthy looking, and I don't ever smell bad. I almost wonder if deodorant is like shampoo in that it fucks your body up and makes you dirty/smelly.

General hygiene routine:
>wash face with hot water
>apply oil and shave with meme safety razor
>rinse with cold water
>shower and scrub with korean girl sandpaper gloves under hot water
>run fingers through scalp to loosen any uncleanliness
>rinse with cold water until chillbumps
>brush teeth with soft brush and water
>rinse mouth with gin diluted to 20%abv

About once a week I step things up and use baking soda or diluted vinegar to wash my hair, chew magic muslim dessert stick toothbrush, and pull coconut oil through my teeth. At least once a month I like to take a castor oil bath, preferably twice a month but it's a mess. You will feel like a god after the castor oil though, it puts the fire into you. You need to practice yoga in order to withstand it though, it gets intense.

I'm really not a hippy healthy type, I just like to enjoy the finer things in life. I'm too autistic so strong smells fuck with me but I still enjoy my lotions and potions. Beer, wine, teas, and coffee is another way to enjoy every day. I get the idea behind epicureanism and a loaf of bread being a party. The shortest path to mental pleasure is physical pleasure. We live in a time where the poorest of the poor(in 1st world that is) enjoy a lifestyle that is far greater than the kings and emperors of yore. It's perfectly feasible to live modestly and enjoy fine food, drink, and baths every day.

Though I am not currently a neet I aspire to become one through early retirement. I admire the neet philosophy, it's truly the greatest way to live.
