I only go out for job interviews and maybe walks alone. Considering the proximity of people, it's just not likely you would ever encounter an /r9k/-goer. Furthermore most of us (probably) don't look that different from normal people. For all you know you've walked by a robot. It's the anonymity of this whole imageboard that makes social stigma cease to exist. People that try to stand out for no good reason are simply attention whores.

Being alone isn't so bad though, it's being lonely that blows ass. All you can really do is shrug it off and take solace in what you've got. Or get lucky, in the non-sexual sense of course. I like the freedom this board gives me simply because I don't have to maintain a relationship with anybody, "we stand alone together." Everybody knows they aren't special contrary to a lot of normalfags' egos.

Sometimes I get so lonely it feels like it's suffocating me. I have no friends and rarely interact with humans. I'm miserable. I just want to be normal. I want to be a human being like other people.

Sometimes I wonder just how many are left here who arent playing some kind of character to fit in.

Several thousand isn't even a thousandth or a percent of the 7 billion people. Yeah i know india and africa probably don't have the most traffic, but several thousand of the couple billion from Na and US is still miniscule. Most of us are introvert enough to make that even harder. Oddly enough i know at least 3 of my friends browse though one is an unironic /v/edditor and the other goes on /cgl/ though apparently used to draw porn for /d/. Pretty sure you can guess the sexes on those two. That's all independent by the way. We just happened to all browse which is pretty fucking astronomical in some senses.

The other problem is some of us like being anonymous. I like being a nobody because it means who I am has 0 impact on what I say. There have been meetups in the past though. An /r9k/ would be great if some anon's parents weren't home to see a bunch of nerdy neets in their house.
