I've been going to the same salon and seeing the same stylist for like 2 or 3 years now so I just walk in and he knows what to do and makes small changes to match the current trends which is cool with me. When I started going I saved a picture on my phone of what I wanted and showed it to him and then he did that. Many male hair stylists are actually quite nice and kind. They want people to have good hair styles and feel good about their looks.

best one is keeping sides very short and top side medium level. after washing hair try to style the top like those chads do.

What? Just tell them what number you want them to start at and how high you want the fade to start (low med high) and what number or finger length you want on top. Don't forget to tell them if you want the sideburns trimmed and in what shape including your neck too. Make sure you didn't sleep on your ears the night before so they can line up the fade properly or else it will be crooked.
