Sex robots won't be making anything obsolete until the robots get a helping female hand. Have you seen them? Terrifying. I feel bad for those who want sex robots. They keep getting these horrifying creations. Certainly it cannot be that hard to craft an attractive female face. The make up especially. I understand adorning the face with bright lips and thick eyeliner, but most all attempts just look horrifying.

Like this dude's robot, I just want to fix it so badly. (The real dolls aren't creepy looking, but they aren't robots. Usually they become creepy looking once they are passed into their owner's hand.)

Admittedly, the current lineup isn't that appealing. There's so much more work to be done. The first airplanes weren't anything spectacular or marketable, but the technology was created. It served it's purpose. It flew. It may not have been advanced, but it was the first stepping stone.

It might not happen in 2020 - 2029, it might not happen in 2030 - 2039, but it will happen.

The market is there. The drive is there. The innovation is there. It's inevitable. We solve problems.

Most the robots consist of just a complex armature with a latex/silicone skin laid over top. I understand trying to get the points of motion correct, but I don't know if it is the best way.

Real people are 'hard'? I mean, when you feel their body, their cheeks, their ribs, it's hard. It's not just plushy. There's a layers of bone and muscle underneath giving it shape. It seems like there needs to be the armature with hard plastic placed strategically underneath to account for areas that need definition, especially in the face, before the skin is laid over top.

I doubt that because most people who own real dolls or are interested in sex bots have really good jobs. Those creations are not cheap in the least bit, not to mention the upkeep. Parts have to be replaced, things need to be cleaned, and in the case of a sex bot, there's bound to be issues with the internal computer just like with regular computers. If it became common, I'm sure those who specialize in fixing them internally would charge a pretty penny.

Watch some documentaries on the subject of real dolls and sex robots. Only one of the men lived with their parents. All the others had their own houses and good jobs. In the documentaries I watched, almost all of them implied or outright agreed that they disliked human woman. In one particular documentary, the guy did have a girlfriend, and his love for robots was nothing more then a robot fetish, but many of them in that documentary and others mentioned a disgust with human woman.

Now, I'm not a virgin, and I've had a lot of sex. The thing with women and sex though, as I've aged, I've realized is absurdly ridiculous.

The issue that bothers me is that there's always a "woman" who is attached to her sexuality. I don't want to deal with the woman. I don't want to deal with impressing her, listening to her, catering to her needs, wining and dining her, paying her money. I just want the sex. Women control the sex, so they set the "price" in terms of time you need to invest, or money that you need to invest.

I don't have the fucking patience to put up with women's shit. My brain is like a computer's RAM. There's only so much that I can hold within memory to focus on, and it's not going to be focusing on placating women. It's illogical to focus on pandering and kowtowing to an emotional woman's bullshit. None of it makes sense.

I just don't see how it'd be any worse then what could result from a relationship with a real woman. They'd have to maintenance it not to mention keep their power bill on.

Plus, a robot waits patiently while one is at work or on errands. If anything, it would complain less then a real woman.

At work, man works hard, answers to his bosses, is subject to their rules and regulations, and their emotions and prejudices, he may work a thankless job, he might have shit coworkers, overall it's mostly out of his control what happens to him and work is stressful.

At home, he has a subservient sexbot that answers his every beck and call, that does and is everything he wants it to do and be, that never stresses him out or betrays him, or is unfriendly.

You can see how that power trip might hurt some people. "I have to work to keep the power on and maintenance up for my doll" turns into "I have enough money saved up that I can take a break from working" turns into "if I'm careful, I can keep her in good condition that I won't have to pay for too much maintenance" turns into charging up your sexbot battery at a McDonald's while you haven't bathed for two weeks.

Plus, I think a sexbot would be a surrogate relationship for some people and they would become too dependent on it. When it inevitably breaks, imagine that kind of depression.

I think the robot would provide solace from the stress of day to day life for many. One man in a documentary mentioned his interest in sex robots was due to one too many failed relationships. He didn't want to experience that pain, so the idea of something that can never betray someone is appealing. I think, at least as far as right now, most open to the idea are well aware that what they want is not a 'human' while at the same time accepting that it is a surrogate for companionship. It'd only be a problem if that person deluded themselves into thinking something could be real, like a homunculus. At the moment, I don't see any of that as a strong possibility.

As long as people understand the creation is a robot, I don't see a problem. One can care for something that is not real without too much issue.
