I find Dimmu Borgir is the only black metal band really popular with normies and a few others that aren't black metal bands but normies pretend they are.
They used to use muh satanism to trigger normies, now that it doesn't work anymore lots of black metal bands seem to be adding nazi imagery in their music to trigger them instead.
It was always mostly contrarian and it seems it will stay that way.
