I will never understand how music is so important to normies even to the extent that they base their entire personality around what music they listen to. It's just sound nigga.

Giles Corey is similar. Also check out The Unnatural World.

supreme /mu/ drone. jk, those are all hella good albums. listen to natural snow buildings already. it's fucking top tier. listen to Night Country first. Also, listen to jandek for a more purified form of the direction you're headed in.

music is not "so important" to normies, the only people that have a right to claim music is "so important" to them are: musicians, composers, producers, and people who can talk about onkyo or john cage for at least an hour straight. fuck all those poseur faggots listening to their god damned mountain goats and their fucking sad boy vaportrash hipster drivel, who are generally the assholes basing their entire personality around music, because it's an easy and lazy mode of projecting a personality with some depth or character. fucking despicable, they don't even listen to sixteen hour recordings of straight no-input mixing feedback drones. fucking casuals.

good shiet niggers. Cindy Lee gives me some similar feelings to HANL, the album Act of Tenderness is worth a listen.
Pic related is my life's anthem, it's been filled with endless regrets and sorrows, but the coziness of music, books, and poems have somehow made it all bearable.
This is the only album I can think of that has essentially "perfected" a whole genre. Conceptually it's so simple but it blows me away every time.
>>35722925
The Beatles are fantastic m8, don't feel bad about liking them. Pretty much only edgy contrarians really go hard against them.
>>35722974
Those are all good albums in their own right (Pink Moon might be another perfect album) but man seeing them lumped together like that really does scream "first month on /mu/".

Grouper and Natural Snow Buildings are great but come on why u gotta rail against The Mountain Goats. John Darnielle is an absolute master at that short form story telling kind of thing he does within his songs. Those early lo-fi albums have absolutely no right to be as engaging as they are, and yet his performances/songwriting are fucking enthralling if you really give into them.

When I first heard this album about four years ago I didn't like the intro but I've grown to understand it.
Also a great album musically, I listen to it every week or so.
