They're still out there, I met one in college last term. She seemed to be part of a small group that still went to concerts and dressed up. Don't count on gf'ing one of them though, they're all very tightly-knit groups if they've lasted this long.

Also, some only dressed that way to piss off their parents. Once they moved out and they had no parents to piss off, the fun was altogether gone.
