Are you spewing bullshit? Have you read a lot of novels? As of for me, I watched a lot of anime, in fact at some point in my life anime was my only hobby. I just love books because the amount of freedom the writers can exert.

I have, read quite few novels in my day.
I was underwhelmed by all of them.
I almost always felt nothing for the characters or the situations that they found themselves in.

I could relate more so to anime heroes due to the fact that they were young men trying to achieve their life long goals despite the odds. Also seeing their struggles along the way is inspiring truth be told.

Another point in anime is the fact that Anyone can be a hero; robots, monsters, dinosaurs, demi-gods, gods, ameba, you name it, there can be an anime hero based off it . Where as in novels they can't stray too far or go too weird.

I don't "watch anime", but sometimes enjoy animation that happens to be Japanese. In Japan, there isn't a separate word for non-Japanese animation. They don't fetishize its origin like westerners do.

I can't enjoy moeshit anymore. I watched Rocket Girls last year and was creeped out. It depicted spaceflight more accurately than Hollywood has since Apollo 13. Why is Hollywood so garbage? Gravity was a massive disappointment. If you're going to mostly disregard physics, you might as well put it in a fantasy setting and give everyone laser swords.

I'm not a Manga reader, tho I know where berserk goes, I think where they ended makes sense. And staring with the last episode with guts all fucked up is great.

I have no idea where claymore goes but Iiked the arc of it. Also amazing soundtacks for both.

I wish there was more fantasy anime. If any one has recs I'm up for it.

I am gratefull i never got into anime. I would have probably ended gay like majority of the board if i did.
