I know one black person, who says that cooperating with the police is the mark of a coward, and you should handle problems yourself outside the law. Thus, they will remain as they are. I find this depressing and certainly I think less of them for it. There are those who opt to live in reasonable society of course, and those people are fine. It's depressing that 'acting white' means being polite and obeying the law, and that's treated as a negative.
