private education? nothing.

public education has eyes bigger than its belly. classrooms with 30-40 students, most of the programs were cut back in the Bush era, underpaid everything, it's just not funded well at all.

Too much focus on teaching a broad smattering of factoids to pass standardized tests.

Pretty much no focus is placed on indivual children as far as the best ways that they learn, and what subjects they should focus on.

Students have a lack of respect for teachers, leaving teachers to spend as much time catering to the few class assholes or idiots as they do actually teaching.

You cant teach when all your effort is spent babysitting. This is also why private schools are a bit better, the kids are more likely to be raised right and will actually try.

I went to a bad school. They called it a "dropout factory" because the completion rate was something like 60%. Their only concern was having fewer dropouts so they were basically giving away class credits. What happens to us after high school? They didn't give a shit.
There were maybe 40 or 50 AP slots and everybody else just had to take remedial tier shit classes.

I think public education is just so business- minded and structured after production that we're okay with the model of batches ( each class) with stone passes and some fails. School should be equipping kids with skills to begin a career but my school was only concerned with spreadsheet statistics to turn in to the state.

Anyway I'm 23 and working a menial job. I think I'm pretty smart relative to my peers. This is just the ugly reality of living in a bad area or coming from a poor family. Part of why Trump's little guy rhetoric always gets people in flyover states like mine.

Overall in public education in the West, not just America, it lacks the impartialness it's meant to have and refuses to be hard on kids

The emphasis isn't on learning, it's on test-taking. The system isn't interested in creating educated people, it is interested in getting as many people as possible to pass standardized tests.

As I said the problem with the education system is it's run by relatively unintelligent teachers.

If you have unintelligent teachers, they're not going to create an education system that stresses the importance of Euclid's Elements, computer science, philosophy, classical literature, the rise and fall of the roman empire, or any other worthwhile topic.

That's because these subjects are well and truly above the head of the average school teacher.

Instead they're going to teach Arts and Crafts, Sex Ed, going Green, Media, all of the books were about race relations.

Teachers like to pretend that they're super competent at their jobs and that their experts in the field of educating children. In my opinion most of them deserve to be unemployed.
