I remember I had that test at middle school and almost everybody scored somewhere around 120. That and the fact that I'm not really smarter than the average, made me realize that the average of 100 is bullshit, probably to make people feel better about themselves.

Not sure the exact number, but in the 140s. Got tested as a kid, then moved into gifted classes. Honestly, I think I've gotten dumber over time. When I was younger, I was that kid who read adult books in elementary school, and that type of stuff. Now, I'm still pretty smart, but less than before when compared to my peers.

Honestly, I'm fine with this though. When I was younger, I was pretty autistic. My parents didn't get me diagnosed, but I'm pretty sure I actually was autistic. (Awkward as fuck, hung out with special ed kids, major sensory issues, hated noises, germaphobe, peed on bathroom floors on the way out to be "sure I was done.") Now though, I'm still maybe a bit weird, but I can pass for a normie well enough.

Because of this, I honestly think there is some correlation between being intelligent and being a fucking loser.

Similar scores and childhood patterns although not as autistic. Never been tested but my standardized test scores have always been quite high (34 Act, 1490 SAT). I know people with significantly lower scores who I would consider smarter, as I have a deep lack of perception in everyday life which has at times led me to be labled as dumb. I worked with 2 other guys, to make a sort of engine, that works in a true vacuum off of the principles of the casimir effect. basically when you place 2 non-charged thin plates together in a complete vacuum, vacuum fluctuations pull the plates together, so a force of attraction.

my stupid ass, attempted to use this to somehow make an engine. for a school project. it was never completed, i still have the notes on it.

When I was a child, my parents noticed that I used my left hand, but could also use my right hand just as well. Being the neurotic perfectionists that they were, they decided to bring me to a testing center where they did like a day's worth of tests on me, which included and IQ test. The handedness test showed that I had equal potential for both hands, so my parents forced me to switch to being right handed because left handed people have a slightly higher rate of accidents due to most tools being designed for right-handed people. The IQ test said I had an IQ of 134, but I don't really put a lot of stock in IQ. I am pretty smart, though. I just got into a top ten PhD program in my field (genetics.) Still, I believe that hard work and a good attitude are more important than having a super high IQ. All you need is like, 120 for most professions.

Although I do admit I have never done an official test in person, only surely simplified internet ones, I cannot believe in anything that produces such wildly varying results.
On that note however, anyone here who has done a "proper" test I would like to know what they are like? All the internet ones seem to only measure pattern recognition and to some extent self control.

The last test I took gave me an IQ of 97, another gave me 108 so it could be anywhere within that range. I would say that it is to the lower end of the scale if I were to be given a proper test.

I try and tell myself that IQ tests don't really matter but it makes me feel bad about myself. I would always test as advanced in gradeschool and went on to take AP/college classes in highschool. However, I've always been two years behind everyone else in math. I chose my major just because it has no math. I can communicate but I guess I am not intelligent. My IQ always comes out as being in the double digits. Feels bad man.

I considered doing MENSA test but I found out they only tell you if you're in top 2% or not and don't give your IQ score. I know I'm in top 2% since (in our version of SAT) I was in top 4000 in 1.5 million without too much work. And I was in top 0.1% in another similar exam.
