I think that both ends of the argument are flawed in this case. 17 is a shitload, and shows that they may not place the same emphasis on sex being special that somebody else might, thus making the relationship incompatible.

At the same time, outright expecting them to be a virgin (especially if you're above a certain age) is similarly unreasonable. They've very likely been in a relationship before, and very likely genuinely loved them.

Personally, I more so approve of the middle approach, seeking a girlfriend whose only ever had sex in the context of a committed relationship. Any girl who's done anything outside of that I have absolutely zero interest in.
