I'm not smart enough, I don't have the desire to work as a doctor, I don't want to take out that much in loans, I don't want to be around people, I'd probably kill myself before getting my MD or paying off the loans, the job itself seems pretty fucking disgusting, I don't want to take the lives of others into my (very inept) hands, I'm lazy, and I just plain don't want to.

Other than that, good question. Really makes my noodle caboodle.

Too many years of studying, too competitive and the work environment is simply depressing and often disgusting too.
I'm the kind of guy that like to make thing, and preferably in industrial scale. In highschool I wanted to be a ChemE.
Because of my recent health issues I developed an interest in medical sciences but I don't think I'd like to be a surgeon or doctor for a living. It might be fun at first but it will probably get tiring really soon. Not to mention rotating schedules at work, overnight shifts etc.

When I cut a normie open it is to end their life, not save it.

Med student here.1 more year and it's gone.And ya it's fucking hard.if I could turn back time I would suggest to my self not to go here.

Being a physician is actually no more economically viable than many other fields (sans the most expensive and high-earning fields) if you consider the effort and expenditures that go into becoming a doctor. Physician assistants make roughly the same returns when you cancel out all of the doctor's expenditures, plus they train faster. I chose med school because of different reasons though. I try to convince a lot of pre-meds against it because most clearly have no idea what they are getting themselves into, or they just want money.
