I'm a brainlet with no formal education beyond HS and working here has been completely eye opening. You wouldn't believe the number of people with degrees from MIT/Cal/Standford/Mich who make it through the hiring process and burn out. I mean, it's not a ton of people but it happens more often than a guy like me would have expected.

So yeah, even here were we are getting top applicants it's hard to gauge people until you work with them for a few months. I'm pretty sure that's why they like to make the beginning difficult, better to weed people out early.

Honestly he just kind of seems like he doesn't give a fuck, but in a way that actually ends up benefiting people. The moment he became rich he just started funneling his money into shit he thought was cool. But more than that he actively works on shit. He's not just a lazy billionaire making money off investments, he's out there designing cars and rockets just because he'd get bored sitting in an office all day. He decided he wanted to privatize space travel, boom, he fucking makes re-usable rockets. He wants to make the world more energy efficient, boom, makes affordable, good looking, efficient electric cars. He wants to randomly drill holes in the ground, boom he founds a company, builds a drill, and just drills for no good reason.

He also just seems to make decisions instantly. Just the other day some rando on Twitter suggested that Tesla have a contest to see which Tesla owner can make the best commercial. Literally 4 days later the contest is officially set up. Another time some rando complained about assholes leaving their Teslas at charging stations all day. Week later they push an update that charges an "Idle fee" for cars who stay parked even after they're done charging

He just fucking does what he wants, and what he wants is to usher mankind into the future even if he has to drag us kicking and screaming.
