I started watching David Wood's videos on YouTube. I'm not a Christian or anything, I'm not even sure if I believe in God, but my life is so shit it seems the best thing I can do is dedicate my life to Jesus Christ and join a good church. I hope I will find a purpose in the Word of God.

This implies that 'purpose' is something to be found, as in, it is there for us to find - provided for us given we have the will to pursue it.
And what could provide this purpose for us but ideology?
The terrifying thing about being free of ideology is that one realizes that one is responsible for both constructing a purpose and pursuing it. It cannot be assumed that everyone has a purpose, because not everyone will get to the point of being both able and willing to do so
