I'm 5'3 and I get mistaken for Spanish all the time, though I'm Italian (though my grandma was Spanish). And I never had a problem dating at home.

The trouble on started when I moved North. Also I didn't even realise I was so short that it was a problem until I moved away.

Most guys were I live are 170-175cm and most girls are like 155-165 and I'm 160cm on the dot and my girlfriends tended to be 160-165cm and I literally never got even a single comment about height. I didn't even know it was a thing back then.
