I just get dulled when I try to write scripts anymore. I never go in with a plan, I just go along with whatever music I'm listening to and hope that the story unfolds in front of me.

This has actually worked on two occasions.

One was when I was obsessed with noir and jazz and tried to write a script I could shoot for a junior-year high school class. It's not great, but it's finished and that's more than I can say for most of my work.

This one is more recent, a script inspired by the sounds of 2814. I really loved where this one was going but I burnt myself out on their shit too fast and I needed to take a break. It's one of the better things I've written, even in its unfinished state.
