Also, when you make art of a flower, it becomes a human representation, ergo it is human art. The moors thought they were doing something different by making pretty squiggly lines instead of other drawings, but in reality they were doing the same thing. Icons in Christianity aren't the object being worshiped, the object represents something that cannot be fathomed by humans, so it acts as a mediator between divinity and earthliness.

Now, this could just be something which only Europeans can understand, and if arabs will quickly fall into idolatry by using more representative imagery, then by all means let them continue to prohibit it.
