Is anybody here quitting gaming? I'm moving into new hobbies such as books. I've been playing video games for so long that now newer games are stale to me.
>>
I've quit gaming since 2015. I'll play on occasion and download an SNES emulator or andriod vidya like once every 2-3 weeks but even then those sessions last only an hour or two. I don't see myself paying for another gaming rig or console anymore.

>tfw was not having fun with videogames anymore, couldnt' finish games
>now i am and have been finishing games left and right again

videogames are fun anon

fav snes games?

probably since around 3-4 years old, growing up with the snes, then when i was a bit older my dad got me into pc gaming with rts games like age of empires and stuff, although he also played jrpgs sometimes like FF X, which was my favorite ps2 game back then which got me really into jrpgs and japanese games in general. im 21 now.

I quit playing video games last year and it was the best decision I ever made.
I go out more, I study more, I work out more, people say I look happier and healthier
My mind is growing exponentially, I can almost hear other people's thoughts now
My thesis on latent thermodynamics is progressing nicely whereas before my mind was constantly clouded with things like APM and infantile stories
Video games are indeed a hobby for children and we would all be much smarter, fitter, happier, healthier, richer, sexier human beings without them.

I more or less quit a few years ago. There's a couple I wanna try out (star citizen and new mass effect, cause it was my favorite trilogy before), but I mostly just read and listen to music instead. I see vidya as being a profound waste of time, no matter whatever artistic merit it may have. It's the least of all artforms, maybe excepting TV.

Not like I do anything productive anyway, though, which is why I'm getting the two mentioned above.

nice b8

I know enough guys not playing a single video game who are only by themselves, don't have any friends and so on, on the other hand I know many guys who play video games (call of duty, gta, stuff liek that) for hours every week who have a huge social circle, a gf, good job and so

I've been thinking the same thing. It's just a gigantic time waster. You're not actually improving on any real skill. You're just mastering operating in a program made by another person
>>
>>35446206
Haven't played video games in a long while now. I think the last one that I really played was Halo 3. Don't really get any enjoyment out of them any more.

I don't particularly miss them, though I do sometimes feel the itch to pick up an MMO just to escape from the world again. I know I can't, though, as I'd play it for 16 hours a day like I used to, and they're EXTREMELY bad for my physical and mental health. I don't eat or sleep properly when I play them, and I don't do anything else.

It's a similar thing for me, though I'll still occasionally play newer games. I never get excited for new releases anymore though, and I'm mostly playing retro games. I also have a really hard time giving a shit about a game's plot, whereas I used to get extremely immersed in a game's story. The real world's just so weird now that the escapism doesn't make me feel anything.
