That would be wine, it's literally taking fruit juice and letting it sit (the yeast in the air will fermet it).
To make beer you need chemistry to break down the wheat, barley or whatever (malt it) so it's accessible to yeasts. Then you have to add bitter herbs like hops to stabilize it and make sure only the right bacteria grow in it. Not easy.

Boxed wine is pretty great for that. Might not taste like the good stuff but it doesn't taste as awful as cheap whiskey/vodka. I like all alcohol in its different forms. Just not a big fan of the elitism that wine/whiskey drinkers seem to have.

Sure. I mean, the buzz is part of the appeal too, but I legitimately enjoy craft beer and that xkcd triggers me. If I didn't like it, god knows I'd buy cheaper shit. Brandy is a distilled wine rather than a distilled mash. Brandy snobbery is a step above whiskey snobbery since it's basically the worst of the wine drinkers and liquor drinkers. Many people get snobby over there whiskies and cigars.
I don't mean that folks that get a jack and coke kind of whiskey. That's like calling Busch a good beer. I mean people willing to spend an extra $30 on a bottle of whiskey cause it's got a separate label but comes from the same barrel.
