Asuka is not autistic. In fact, no one in Evangelion is (yes, not even Rei), apart from those SEELE guys maybe.

I wouldn't say anyone is really "loved" in EVA: the whole series is about how people are fucked up in different ways and are ultimately hindered in forming real, open, loving relationships due to their own specific brand of insecurities. All the relationships in EVA are basically masks and facades, with the angels representing confrontation with what is beneath the mask, concluding with the the "new genesis" where everyone emerges from the Prima Materia, born again in inner concordance with their true natures.

So I'd say talking about who in EVA is genuinely cared for or loved is a red herring.
