Yeah. You're giving into an ideal image of what life is like on the other side. I dropped out to do EXACTLY this.. I ended up being a short order cook for four years, making minimum wage, not releasing the music I wanted to etc.. wasn't a horrible turn of events but it was time wasted.

Music is already "worthless". No barrier of entry, too many musicians. Your success as an artist is determined by how well you sell yourself, more than musical skill.
The problem will only get worse as time goes on. Automation of music composition is coming SOON. If you think entirely self-driving trucks with nobody at the wheel are more likely to come first, you're going to get blindsided.
